From another singing colleague

I met Richard when we both sang for Denys Darlow in the Tilford Bach Festival Choir in the 1970s. Quite a character. a thoroughly nice chap - and a decent tenor voice! He came to sing in various other ventures with which I was involved and where additional tenors were required, such as Robert Tucker's pioneering concerts of neglected British music. Although this is nearly 50 years ago he is instantly recognizable from the photograph on this site, with that half-amused, quizzical look at the world's foibles. He wasn't much older than me and I'm sad to know that he has died. RIP.
