Richard was at St Paul’s with my late husband Michael and they had kept in touch during the many years since they had left school. He came to stay with us in Sussex and was always a thoughtful and amusing guest. My daughters were very sad to know that he had died. As my elder daughter said he always treated us as equals and they remember him with affection. I last saw him when he came to my husband’s memorial service which was a difficult journey for him so I did appreciate it.
