Many happy memories of Richard and his good company and robust talk and opinions over the years, from school times onwards, both in Winchester and in London, with outings to concerts and the opera, exhibitions, and plays, and I shall always treasure his trenchant opinions, even those iI didn't necessarily agree with! There were two such occasions this year, both in March, when Richard made the trip up to London and we spent the day together. Both delightfully idiosyncratic occasions. It's hard to believe he has gone.
